"Ask Isaac"

Introducing a weekly column written by our very own family diplomat and eternal optimist, "Ask Isaac" will be published each Saturday.

Hello everybody,  I am Isaac Livesay.

I am ten and a half and I live in Haiti. This is my first blog post ever!

I  will   be  willing  to  answer any questions you may have for Hope, me, and Noah. If you have a question for Hope or Noah I will pass it along and write their answer back.

Here are some more facts  about me.

  • I  was   born  September 18, 2001, close to a tragic moment.
  • My  favorite color is orange.
  • My  most absolute favorite food is wonderful STEAK!
  • Enough about me, I want to leave you with some questions.

My  plan  is to answer any questions you might have about anything about me or my life or Haiti or anything at all like that in a post each Saturday this summer.

You can leave your question in a comment or you can email livesayfamily@gmail.com with "Ask Isaac" in the subject line.

Wow! Woo hoo! Very exciting to read your comments & ideas & perspectives, Isaac. Here's one question to start things off: What's the best part of having such a big family, & what's the most difficult or challenging part? Love you & your family!

Hi Isaac,
My son Elijah was born just 5 months after you, February 21, 2002. He and his brothers want to know if you ever get to play computer games. What do you like to play if you do?

My question: how can I get my boys to be half as cool as you?

Oh my goodness, I am so excited to read your column! My question is what are some of your favorite memories of our family's experiences in Haiti? And also, do you know how much I love you?!

This is so awesome! Isaac, you have some admirers that you've never met. This one lives on the west coast of the US. We are about to adopt a little boy from Thailand. (Next week!) My question is this: what advice would you give to (adoptive) parents about talking to their kids about adoption? Can't wait to hear more from your column!

GREAT IDEA!

Isaac, I have two questions.
1) What is your favorite bible verse?

2) I have two little kids (2 and 3). Do you have any advice for them about being a kid and growing up?

Can't wait to read your posts!

my questions are:

1) why are you only writing on saturdays?

and

2) why don't you set up your own blog? you obviously have a lot of wisdom and love to share and i'm a little bit sad that you've limited yourself in these ways.

anyway, i won't get all bent out of shape if you decide that writing saturdays on your parents blog is all you can manage. i know you're a busy guy. i just love hearing your thoughts on life and all that. you're amazing.

Isaac! I feel like I'm communicating with a star! You are really practically famous in my eyes!!

1. What do you like on your wonderful steak? Steak sauce, plain, ketchup?
2. How do you like it prepared? (like rare, medium rare, well done)
3. How do you best like to cope with the heat there?
4. Are you still marrying my sweet girl here in ND?? Ok...that's a joke from a few years ago when a few of us fell in love with you and declared you'd make a nice husband for our daughters. Haha. Good one, huh?

Hi Isaac!

My name is Heidi and I am a teacher in sunny Arizona.

I'd like to know the 3 most important lessons you have learned in life so far.

Hi Isaac! I think it's rock-star cool that you're blogging now. I love reading what your mom and dad post, so can't wait read your posts now too. I think you look like an amazing dude.

I have a son who is almost 8, and he has a baby sister who is about to turn 1. We know you have lots of experience with little sisters. What advice do you have for him on being a brother to a little sister?

Looks like you've got lots of fan mail already, so I'll let you go. :)

Hey Isaac, good luck with your new column! Here are my questions --

for you: Do you have any secret talents?

for Noah: If you could only eat 2 things for the rest of the week, what would they be?

for Hope: What is your most treasured posession?
